Original Danielle Quarante For Airborne Albatros 1969 White Lounge Chair Mid Century Vintage Retro MCM

An original and beautiful ‘Albatros' lounge chair by the French female designer, Danielle Quarante for Airborne in 1969.

This amazing chair was presented at the 1969 ‘Salon des Artistes Decorateurs’ in Paris where Danielle Quarante received the Henri Mercier prize for best creation solidifying its status as a symbol of 20th century design.

Airborne only produced the ‘Albatros' in small quantities for about 7 years between 1969 to 1975, and were only available in 3 colours - white, orange and red.

The ‘Albatros’ is now in the permanent collections of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris and the Plastic Museum in Brussels.
