Mid Century Angraves Of Leicester Dressing Table/Desk & Stool Bamboo Cane & Rattan Vintage Retro MCM

A stylish mid century bamboo and rattan dressing table or desk by British firm Angraves of Leicester with a matching stool.

The dressing table/desk, has 2 drawers and 1 cupboard with cane handles, and is covered in cane weave matting, it also has a glass top, surrounded by a gallery.

Angraves was founded in 1912 by George Angrave and his brother, Robert Angrave, in Thurmaston, Leicester.

In the 1950's, the company was taken over by Robert's son, Robert Ronald Angrave, who developed the business throughout the 1960's and 1970's.

The Brook Street firm supplied furniture to both small independent stores and major high street names.

Angraves was the last cane and bamboo furniture manufacturer in the country and had held that position for some years until the company sadly closed its doors for the final time in 2011.
