Made with cast aluminium detail and steam bent ply, these are high quality comfortable design classics and versatile.

In 1877 Ettore Castelli founded a small workshop in Bologna. In 1939, the firm was renamed Anonima Castelli and began producing modern office furniture for which the brand is best known.

It is recognized as one of the foremost manufacturers of Italian design of the 20th century and as the producer of the iconic Plia folding chair.

In 1965 Giancarlo Piretti designed the 106 chair model. Now an integral part of the history of design, it is present throughout the world. The interweaving of lines that defines the shape of this chair has been admired by entire generations of architects and designers. The DSC 106 is concrete proof that design is not just creativity, but the ability to blend the aesthetic element with ergonomic research.

Born in Bologna in 1940, Piretti studied at the Istituto Statale d'Arte in the same city before joining Anonima Castelli as a designer. One of his most famous works is the Plia chair, presented in 1969. Among his most important creations are Plona, Platone and DSC 106, which would later propagate its lines to the Axis 3000 and 4000 models. In 1988, at the NeoCon in Chicago, he presented the Piretti Collection: a series of over 50 chairs and seats characterized by a patented mechanism on the backrest, which allows the chairs to be adjusted according to the user's weight.
