Mid Century Stag Fineline Pair Of Wardrobes By John & Sylvia Reid Vintage Retro MCM

A simple, but elegant pair of Stag Fineline wardrobes designed by John and Sylvia Reid dating from the early 1960s.

This range was only produced for a short period between 1961 & 1962.

Finished in honeyed birch veneer, with satinised, steel lip handles with a black plinth base.

Can be easily dismantled and flat packed.

Other matching Stag Fineline are available on separate listings such as chest of drawers, desks and dressing tables.

John and Sylvia Reid were both working architects, and gained valuable experience working for influential British designer, Robin Day and Hille in the early 1950s. They were asked to design a range of furniture for Stag, and fostered a 10-year partnership between 1952 and 1962 with the manufacturer. Taking inspiration from the prevailing Scandinavian designers of the time, and drawing on their architectural background, John and Sylvia were among the pioneers of British Mid Century Modern furniture.
