1970s Rattan Sofa & Pair Of Lounge Chairs Mid Century Vintage Retro MCM

A wonderfully sculptural three-piece rattan seating set dating from the 1970s, comprising a two seater sofa and a matching pair of lounge chairs.

Beautifully handwoven in warm honey-toned rattan, the set has a distinctive organic silhouette typical of the period. Each piece features a substantial woven pedestal base that gently pinches at the waist, opening into a generous rounded seat with a sweeping high back. The more open cane work through the backrest gives the furniture a light, airy appearance while highlighting its elegant curved construction.

The sofa has particularly striking proportions, with its broad basket-like form and gently rising sides creating an inviting, enveloping seat. The two accompanying chairs repeat the same design on a smaller scale and look equally good positioned alongside the sofa or used independently as occasional chairs.

The natural variation and rich patina of the rattan give the set plenty of character and warmth. Presented either bare to appreciate the craftsmanship or dressed with cushions and throws, as pictured, it works beautifully in 1970s, bohemian, Mediterranean, coastal or contemporary interiors.

A characterful vintage set with a strong decorative presence - ideal for a living room, conservatory, garden room or relaxed lounge setting.
