Charles & Ray Eames Lounge 670 Chair For Herman Miller Mid Century Vintage Retro MCM

Complete with the Herman Miller label to the under side so it’s genuine, authentic and real.

Presented in restored condition with the walnut shells sanded and oiled, and the dark brown leather cleaned and nourished.

The Eames Lounge Chair was designed by Charles and Ray Eames and is one of the most iconic pieces of furniture of the 20th century.

It was first introduced in 1956 and has been in continuous production ever since. The chair is made of molded plywood, with a walnut veneer with dark brown leather.

It is considered to be a masterpiece of modern design and is prized by collectors and design enthusiasts alike.

The Eames Lounge Chair was inspired by a number of different sources, including the Eames' own home, the work of other designers, and their own research into ergonomics. The chair was designed to be both comfortable and stylish, and it has been praised for its ability to provide both relaxation and support.

The Eames Lounge Chair first appeared on Arlene Francis daytime program Home in 1956.

After the debut, Herman Miller launched an advertising campaign that highlighted the versatility of the chair.

Since its introduction, the chair has been in continuous production by Herman Miller in the United States. Later, Vitra began producing the chair for the European market.

Herman Miller and Vitra remain the only two companies to produce these chairs with the Eames name attached. Production was licensed in the United Kingdom for 10 years to Hille International LTD from 1957.

In 2006, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the chair.

A 1956 rosewood Eames Lounge Chair and ottoman are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The set was a gift of the Herman Miller Company, donated in 1960. Examples are also on display at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn and in the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.
