A striking and beautifully proportioned 1960s Scandinavian four seater sofa, combining rich teak with supple black leather upholstery. With its exceptionally long, low-slung profile and elegant exposed timber construction, this is a particularly impressive example of mid century Scandinavian design.

The solid teak frame is wonderfully sculptural, with gently tapered legs, sweeping curved armrests and a beautifully detailed open slatted back. Viewed from behind, the rhythmic curved timber supports make the sofa every bit as attractive from the rear as it is from the front - ideal for positioning centrally within a room rather than against a wall.

Four individual seat and back cushions are upholstered in black leather, with deep button tufting giving the sofa a relaxed yet tailored appearance. The leather has developed an appealing vintage character, with natural creasing and signs of age that complement the warm tone and grain of the teak.

Generously sized to comfortably accommodate four people, yet visually light thanks to its slender frame and raised construction, this is a superb statement piece for a large living room, studio or open-plan interior.
