G Plan Libretto 1974 Modular Sofa Lounge Suite Mid Century Vintage Retro MCM

A stunning and extremely rare original 1974 five piece modular seating suite by British furniture maker, G Plan, part of their 1974 to 1975 ‘Libretto’ range.

The brown, gold and black dralon upholstery fabric is in perfect condition after being fully restored, which is now a wonderful example of the 1970s love for vivid geometric patterns. The walnut sides and backs have also been restored along with the satin aluminium fittings.

Due to high manufacturing costs, the Libretto seating series was only available between 1974 and 1975, it sold in low numbers due to its expensive pricing and therefore is rare and scarcely seen 50 years later today.

The set is five pieces in total with three straight seats and two corner seats, with a left and a right arm.

The modular construction allows multiple configurations, from a long linear sofa to a spacious corner setup, or a separate sofa and chairs making it ideal for large living rooms, hotel lobbies or creative studio environments.
