A beautiful and elegant three seater sofa in tan brown leather and deep buttoned detail.

Designed in 1969 by British designer Geoffrey Harcourt for Artifort Holland.

In 1962 British designer Geoffrey Harcourt joined the Artifort team, and developed luxury lounge sofas and office chairs in the late 1960s. Manufactured by Artifort in the Netherlands. Artifort is a company specialising in the manufacture of designer furniture, founded in 1890 by Jules Wagemans in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

Geoffrey Harcourt born in 1935 and started his exploration of design whilst studying at the Royal College of Art in London.

In the 1960s Harcourt started collaborating with Dutch furniture brand Artifort, and in 1962 he designed his first series of seating for Artifort with a focus on office fauteuils.

His eccentric and experimental designs, gave Artifort an introduction to the international market, specifically for contract design.

His early designs are most known for seating for reception rooms, including the 042 series, which was a global success being recognised for its unique form and shapes.

His philosophy is that the chair should focus on the person and not the other way around.
“First the person, then the chair.” Harcourt has won many prizes and in 1978 was awarded the title of "Royal Designer for Industry".
