Pair Of Thonet 1951 Siesta Medizinal Chairs By Hans & Wassili Luckhardt Mid Century Vintage Retro MCM

After several years of study into relaxation and comfort, first versions of the Siesta Medizinal deck chair were patented in the 1930s with early versions being produced in 1934.

Designer Hans Luckhardt always focused on the function of a chair and pioneered the link mechanism allowing the back to recline down whilst the foot rest raises at the same time.

This pair of matching chairs are the newer more steam-lined version from 1951.

The mechanisms have been restored and the beech frame refinished ready to last for another 100 summers.

They also fold away for effective storage during the winter months.
