Set Of Eight 1970s Danish Teak Dining Chairs By Dyrlund Mid Century Vintage Retro MCM

A set of eight Danish dining chairs manufactured by renowned furniture maker, Dyrlund, during the 1970s.

Crafted from richly grained teak, each chair features a gently curved double-slat backrest, subtly shaped solid wood frames and distinctive exposed joinery. The clean, architectural lines are complemented by the warm tones of the teak and original dark maroon plum brown leather seat cushions, which provide a pleasing contrast.

The chairs have a sturdy, well-proportioned construction, with gently reclined backrests and generously sized seats offering comfortable dining.

A matching set of eight, retaining their original Dyrlund manufacturer’s labels, with a warm, aged patina throughout. A classic example of Danish mid-century furniture design, equally suited to contemporary and traditional interiors.

Dyrlund is a Danish furniture manufacturer established in 1960, recognised for its craftsmanship and high-quality Scandinavian furniture. The company became particularly well known during the 1960s and 1970s for its beautifully constructed teak and rosewood furniture, including dining tables, chairs, sideboards and executive desks.

Dyrlund's designs combined traditional Danish cabinetmaking techniques with the clean lines and functional simplicity of mid-century modernism. Particular attention was given to the selection of timber, quality of joinery and durability, helping establish the company as a respected name in Danish furniture manufacturing.

The company continues to manufacture furniture in Denmark, maintaining its emphasis on traditional craftsmanship, carefully selected hardwoods and hand-finished surfaces.
